Same team on a ten minute fix as on a fortnight’s work. Here’s what each job involves.

Emergency calls answered 24 hours a day across Morley and the villages.
In detail
Two things matter when a pipe goes: how fast somebody picks up, and whether they know what to do when they get there.
Bursts, frozen pipes letting go in a thaw, leaks under sinks and baths, cisterns overflowing, seized stopcocks and heating dead in a cold snap. Made safe first, priced second, repaired third.
The supply pipe runs from the boundary stop tap into your house, and from that boundary inwards it is yours rather than the water company’s. People are often surprised by that, usually at the worst possible moment.
In Morley’s older terraces that pipe is frequently original: iron that has furred up to half its bore, or a lead section that nobody has ever touched. Replacing it is often the only thing that genuinely fixes poor pressure, and where ground conditions allow it can be moled through rather than trenched, which keeps the front garden intact.
The single most common complaint in this town, and the one most often answered with a shrug and “it’s the hill”.
Sometimes it is partly the hill. Far more often it is a restricted old supply pipe, a stopcock somebody left half shut years ago, a leak underground, or furred-up internal pipework. Each has a completely different fix at a completely different cost, which is why we measure the flow rate at the kitchen tap before anybody recommends anything.
Gas Safe registered, so servicing, repairs, swaps and landlord certificates all stay in-house.
Combi, system and heat-only boilers, plus cylinders where a house needs stored hot water. In a three storey terrace with two bathrooms a combi will always leave somebody disappointed, and we will say so before fitting one.
The obvious ones are easy. The costly ones creep — a stain on a ceiling, a meter ticking over with every tap off, a cellar that smells damp when it never used to.
Traced back to where it is actually coming from rather than opening the nearest wall and hoping, then shown to you before we put it right.
New rads, vertical panels for narrow walls, column radiators that suit older rooms, and moves where the original went somewhere impractical.
If a room never warms up we find out why properly rather than bleeding it and hoping. Half the time it is balancing, and balancing costs nothing but time.
FAQs
From the boundary stop tap into the property is the owner’s. The water company looks after the main and the connection up to that point. If there is a leak under your front path, it is almost certainly yours to sort.
If the existing pipe is the restriction, yes, and the difference is usually dramatic. If the restriction is elsewhere it will not, which is exactly why we test the flow rate first rather than selling you a new supply and hoping.
No. It depends on ground conditions, the length and route of the run, and what else is buried along it. Sometimes a short trench is unavoidable. We will tell you which before you commit.
Sometimes a pump is the right answer, but it is often used to mask a restricted supply rather than fix it. Pumping water through a half-blocked pipe has limits, and you will have paid for a pump and still have the original problem.
Yes — Gas Safe registered, so we carry out and certify landlord checks and can service the boiler at the same visit.
Yes. Old parts and packaging go on the van, floors swept, anything moved put back.
Pressure problems
We test the flow rate at the kitchen tap before recommending anything. That ten minutes is the difference between fixing the problem and paying for the wrong solution.
